Tea Ceremonies at the Lake
A tea ceremony is a slow, intentional practice centered around presence, simplicity, and connection. Found in many cultures—from Chinese and Japanese traditions to modern mindfulness practices—tea ceremony transforms something ordinary into something meaningful.
Rather than rushing through a drink, tea becomes an experience:
- Water is heated with care
- Leaves or flowers are prepared with attention
- Each pour is deliberate and unhurried
- The act of drinking becomes a moment of awareness
At its core, a tea ceremony is about slowing down enough to notice—the warmth in your hands, the aroma rising from the cup, and the subtle changes in flavor over time.
The Tea Experience at the Lake
Here at Ichetucknee Yoga Club & Nature Retreat, tea is not just served—it’s shared in a setting designed for calm and connection.
Most tea ceremonies are held in our screened tea room, a quiet, protected space that allows you to enjoy the outdoors without distraction. Surrounded by forest views and natural light, the tea room creates a calm, intimate environment where the experience can fully unfold.
For those who want something even more immersive, we also offer in-nature tea ceremonies by request—set lakeside or within the cedar forest. These sessions bring you closer to the elements, where the sounds of water, wind, and birds become part of the ceremony itself.
Whether in the tea room or outdoors, the intention is the same: to create a space where you can slow down and settle in.
Two Tea Offerings
Blooming Floral Tea (Visual + Light + Uplifting)
Our blooming tea is as much visual as it is sensory.
Served in a clear glass teapot, a hand-tied bundle of tea leaves and edible flowers slowly unfurls in hot water, creating a living display right in front of you.
- Light, floral flavor profile
- Visually calming and engaging
- Perfect for first-time tea ceremony guests
- Served as a shared pot, ideal for small groups
It’s a gentle, beautiful introduction to slowing down—watching the tea bloom as you settle into the moment.
Traditional Pu-erh Tea Ceremony (Grounding + Deep + Meditative)
For a more traditional and immersive experience, we offer a pu-erh (pu-tea) ceremony, inspired by Chinese tea practices.

Pu-erh is a fermented tea known for its rich, earthy flavor and grounding qualities. It is prepared through multiple short infusions, with each pour revealing subtle changes in taste and depth.
- Deep, smooth, earthy flavor
- Multiple small pours encourage presence and pacing
- More traditional, meditative format
- Ideal for those seeking a quieter, more reflective experience
This style of tea ceremony invites you to sit, sip, and simply be—no rush, no distractions.
The Perfect Pairing
Many guests choose to enjoy tea before or after other experiences on the property.
- After a day at the springs or kayaking, tea becomes a gentle way to wind down
- Before or after Nidra Yoga, it helps transition the body into a more relaxed state
- As a standalone experience, it offers a quiet moment of connection with nature
Why Tea Feels Different Here
In a fast-paced world, even something as simple as tea is often rushed. Here, it’s different.
- No noise, no pressure, no hurry
- A peaceful tea room or a natural lakeside setting
- A space where conversation, silence, and reflection all feel natural
The environment does most of the work. The tea simply gives you a reason to pause long enough to notice
